The ongoing rivalry between Edge and The Judgement Day continued at Extreme Rules with the ‘Rated R Superstar’ facing Finn Balor in an ‘I Quit Match’. Both men have been at loggerheads since Balor kicked Edge out of The Judgement Day and replaced him as the faction’s leader. After the stable took Edge on almost a month ago, the former ‘Brood’ member made his return on the September 26 edition of RAW laying waste to the stable he founded.

The match between two former world champions saw a good exchange of blows and move sets until The Judgement Day, with their newest addition, Dominik Mysterio, interfered and attacked Edge. Rhea Ripley handcuffed Edge’s arm to the ring ropes allowing the Balor and the rest to beat him down with kendo sticks.
Rey Mysterio did run out to help his friend, only to be put down by his own son. The match did take another turn when Edge’s wife, former WWE Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix, came out to his aid. She was able to take out Balor before getting into a brawl with Rhea Ripley. But things soon turned worst for the Hall of Fame couple.
Edge was forced to watch as Beth Phoenix got brutally attacked
Just as Edge was gaining momentum after Phoenix’s interference, Rhea Ripley knocked her out using brass knuckles. Damien Priest then choke-slammed Edge, allowing Balor to get back on top. But the real talk-worthy moment came towards the end.
With Edge refusing to quit, Ripley threatened to hit Beth Phoenix with a Con-Chair-To. This forced Edge to utter the words ‘I Quit’. However, despite this, Ripley went on to smash Phoenix with a Con-Chair-To in a brutal fashion.
Edge watched helplessly as his wife was violently taken out and was very distraught as the whole arena.
It will be interesting to see how the former WWE Champion will retaliate now that things have become even more personal with The Judgement Day.
