Rob Kligman, Brain Behind Viral The Undertaker x Dr Disrespect Collab Reveals Exciting Details of Once in a Lifetime Filming Experience: “It Was Flooring”(Exclusive)

The Undertaker protected his gimmick throughout his run with the WWE. As such, it was rare for ‘The Deadman’ to make media appearances or be a part of commercial promotion campaigns. A couple of years back though, in the twilight of his career ‘The Undertaker teamed up for a collaboration that no one expected.

The legendary WWE star, was involved in a scripted feud with popular Esports streamer, Dr Disrespect.

The Undertaker made a surprise appearance on Dr Disrespect’s live stream, and the two engaged in some shenanigans. This was part of a promotional campaign for G Fuel, a new energy drink.

Former WWE Vice President, Rob Kligman, who was the man behind the filming of the unique video, shared details of his experience.

Kligman described the experience of working with The Undertaker and Dr Disrespect

The ‘feud’ between The Undertaker, and DrDisrespect, began when the streamer crashed the premiere of SmackDown of FOX in October 2019. He called out wrestlers and said, “He’s looking for someone.” Consequently, The Undertaker  confronted him on his live stream a few months later.

In an exclusive interview with EssentiallySports on the Essentially Rasslin’ podcast, Rob Kligman, shared interesting details of filming with the whole sequence with the two popular icons.

He said, “We went to Vince McMahon and pitched this idea . The idea was an easy green lit opportunity, because it just fit perfectly. That opportunity was amazing. I had the chance to fly to San Diego and go to Dr Disrespect’s house, which is where we filmed it. We filmed it with a green screen in his studio.”

Moreover, Kligman said that the experience of pairing Taker with Dr Disrespect was wonderful. He revealed, “I was at the WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans when he lost. The first time at WrestleMania and it was the most iconic experience, I’ve ever been in because nobody ever expected him to lose a match at WrestleMania. So to be there, experience that and then be able to take him out of the ring and marry him with something that is a cult hero in some ways with Dr Disrespect was just a flooring experience. Just the experience. It was flooring.”

Indeed, it was a once in a lifetime experience seeing ‘The Phenom’ in strange but exciting collaboration with someone like Dr Disrespect. Kligman’s insight offered a unique look about the whole experience.

The video went viral and had everyone from WWE to the world of ESports talking. Certainly, the fans hoped to see more of Dr Disrespect on WWE TV, but for now the relation between two seems to be on pause.
