Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson wrestled in WWE for around eight years before becoming a full-time actor in Hollywood. The most electrifying WWE superstar started appearing in action-packed films and we know him today as one of the best action heroes in the world.

Johnson is now set to make a debut in the comic verse movie, which is currently the most famous movie genre among the fans. The Rock will appear as a villain/anti-hero in the DCEU film Black Adam, which will release in late October.

Trailer of Black Adam featuring Dwayne Johnson plays at Cinema Con

Recently, at the CinemaCon, the attendees got to see the trailer of Black Adam. The trailer seemed connected to what they have shown the character in the comic books for years. Also, Dwayne Johnson was rocking the lead role of Black Adam in the trailer.

Germain Lussier, a senior Reporter of Gizmodo and io9, was present at the CinemaCon to witness the trailer for the first time. He said, “Finally! The Rock has come BACK. To #CinemaCon. Black Adam and Super-Pets to close this out.”

Moreover, he gave his take on the trailer too. He shared his notes about the trailer on Twitter saying, “Black Adam footage had real Black Panther vibes. Similar look, similar jets, similar speed. We see him as a slave, being reborn, firing lightning, taking down a helicopter and catching rockets. He’s then told that heroes don’t kill people. “Well, I do,” he retorts. #CinemaCon.”

Black Adam is a character that has a fraction amount of inspiration from Egyptian mythology. Adam is the protector of Kahndaq, a fictional city in DC located near Egypt on the African continent.

As Lussier in his tweet said about getting Black Panther vibes, the plot might be similar for both the movies. The iconic part of the trailer was the line, “heroes don’t kill people. “Well, I do”. It’s a line Johnson will look astounding while saying it. Fans will go crazy about this scene in the theatres.

Dwayne Johnson appears as Black Adam in a solo movie in October and in the future, it is said that the arch-rival of Shazam will appear in a Shazam movie as a villain.

Who is Black Adam?

Black Adam is the protector of the fictional city Kahndaq in DC comics, which is located near the country of Egypt in the African continent. 

Black Adam aka Teth-Adam is born in the year 1279 BC. Teth-Adam is the son of the ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Ramesses II. He impresses one of the high priests, the wizard Shazam, with his good deeds. The wizard then gives Teth-Adam the power to become the superhero, Mighty Adam.

However, Tenth Adam becomes a corrupted person later and to rule the whole of Egypt, he kills the Pharoah. The wizard Shazam, after watching, takes away Adam’s power and buries him in his father’s tomb. In death, they refer to the former hero as “Khem-Adam” in comics which translates to “Black Adam”.

Dwayne Johnson will be playing the part when Adam comes to life 5000 years later and wants to take back his powers.
