Logan Paul needs no introduction. A content creator from age 10, his life is a roller coaster of ups and downs. These have made him famous as well as infamous. However, the last place anyone could have expected to see him was in the WWE. Moreover, competing in a title match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns.

Let’s take a look back at how everything started and someone with no experience, like Paul, almost beat Reigns in a live event.

Logan Paul joined the WWE and proved his critics wrong

On the April 2, 2021, episode of SmackDown, Logan Paul appeared as the guest of Sami Zayn. This would be his debut in the WWE. After eating a stunner from Kevin Owens, he would return in September of the same year to settle the score.

It would be in June 2022 the WWE would announce Paul’s multi-year contract with the WWE. He then went on to face The Miz at SummerSlam 2022. In September, he would initiate a feud with The Tribal Chef Roman Reigns. This match took place at Crown Jewel 2022.

While fans were not big on Paul from the start, the match exceeded all expectations. Despite this being Paul’s third match in the WWE, he stood toe-to-toe with Reigns. Fans loved the match, especially the ending.

The 26-minute match made Paul a star despite not winning the title. Even though Reigns was undefeated at the time, the popular content creator looked like a credible threat. Paul displayed some scintillating moves which made the fans reach a fever pitch. He established his credentials as a star in the making. Veterans of WWE were quick to point this out.

Logan Paul gets praised to high heavens 

As mentioned earlier, the match between Paul and Reigns was something no one was expecting to be that good. Dave Melter gave the match a 4.5/5, which was his highest of the matches on the cards. While speaking on 83 Weeks, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff said,  “Logan Paul is, in my opinion, one of the most impressive sports entertainers, professional wrestlers, whatever you want to call them, to come down the pike in the past 20 years.”

That is massive praise coming from someone who has been with multiple promotions and worked with the best in the industry. In a July episode of Drive-Thru Jim Cornette podcast, he said, “What a f***ing match. Logan Paul. He’s not completely smooth, but he’s so athletic he makes up for it.” These were massive praises for someone in the company for just over a year.
