“I Save Your Life and You…”: After Failed Suicide Attempt, Muhammad Ali’s Daughter Laila Ali Exposed Hulk Hogan’s Strange Behavior

The time around 2007-2008, Hulk Hogan was in a dark period in his life. The WWE Hall of Famer had been through a divorce, and his son, Nick Hogan, was in a car crash. He was even planning to end his life. However, Laila Ali’s one phone call was an awakening got The Hulkster, and he claims it was what saved his life.

Surprisingly, Ali had no idea she was responsible for the same, but she once opened up about Hogan’s strange behavior after that call. 

Hulk Hogan didn’t connect with Laila Ali after that life-saving phone call

A few years ago, in 2017, Laila Ali made an appearance on The Tomorrow Show. Upon being asked by the host, she opened up about the Hulk Hogan incident; how she heard it for the first from Shaun Robinson from Excess Hollywood. However, she said the WWE legend never connected with her about that.

Ali said, “But he didn’t tell me on the phone that he was about to do that so I didn’t know. So I was like oh it must’ve been divine intervention so she wanted me to come in and talk about it.”

She added, “I was like what am I gonna say so I was like okay fine. But I haven’t talked to him since. So I’m like wow I saved your life and you don’t even call me. I haven’t talked to him since that whole story broke.”

Hogan and Ali were working together as hosts for a reality show, American Gladiators. Hence, she called him to talk about work. Fortunately for ‘The Immortal One’ that turned out to be a life-saving call from Muhammad Ali’s daughter.

She claimed to have called him and referred him to the church she went to. The boxer recalled Hogan took a liking to visiting the church but she didn’t think he had suicidal thoughts.

Laila Ali says she and The Hulkster aren’t that close

Hogan’s close friend Sean Waltman was one of the hosts on the show. Others asked him why the WWE legend behaved the same. X-Pac got confused, but Laila Ali said she and Hogan aren’t that close.

Laila Ali said that although they didn’t have a close relationship, Hogan must have talked it through with her before talking about her in public.

Ali had no idea what to say in the media when Hogan broke the news. Thus, this could be the reason she might want to connect to Hogan, and was glad she was the reason that saved him.
