Over the years, WWE has integrated some of the biggest names from other sports as part of its sports entertainment schtick. Legendary boxer, Mike Tyson, was one of the biggest names to feature on WWE programming, when he appeared for the company during the late 90s. He was heavily involved in the storyline between D-Generation X, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, leading up to WrestleMania XIV.

Tyson coming to WWE was a big deal at that time. One of the most popular athletes in the world, Tyson, was a massive coup for the pro wrestling company.

Former WWE tag team champion, Road Dogg, talked about the boxer’s impact in WWE, while making a regretful confession about ‘Iron’ Mike.

Road Dogg reveals his Mike Tyson regret

Mike Tyson arrived in WWE, when the company was launching itself into a new era. WWE got the boxer immediately involved in the Austin-Shawn Michaels feud.

Tyson’s presence generated a tremendous buzz for WWE. They named him as the special enforcer for the WrestleMania main event match between the then WWE Champion, Shawn Michaels, and Steve Austin. He even got into an in-ring brawl with Austin during the buildup, which became a part of the wrestling folklore.

Road Dogg, a former D-X member, recalled how Tyson’s involvement at WrestleMania helped the event.

On his ‘Oh… You Didn’t Know‘ podcast, he said, “I thought it was really cool, really hot button issue. I think it was a great get and it probably did wonders for the ppv buys.”

The WWE Hall of Famer also revealed his one regret when Tyson was with WWE. He stated, “I just met him a couple of times, I don’t even think I took a picture with him. To tell you the truth I felt funny sometimes about going to people and taking pictures. I regret that a little bit every now and then.”

Road Dogg’s regret is understandable. The chance to click a photo with one of the greatest athletes the world has ever seen, doesn’t come around too often.

After initially siding with D-X, Tyson would make the 3-count to help Austin win the title, and thereafter, knocked out Shawn Michaels with a punch.

Why Road Dogg ‘hated’ Dwayne Johnson?

Road Dogg once confessed that he hated Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson early in his career. His ‘hatred’ stemmed from jealousy as he saw The Rock as a threat to him. He admitted to his harsh behavior against The Rock during that time.

In a discussion with Chris Van Vliet, he said, “Well Rock didn’t try to help me but I was mean to him because I was jealous of him and he was a threat to me, because he could do everything that I could do, but he looked frigging great too. I was afraid of that. So I treated him horribly in front of everybody all the time.”

He further revealed that he made amends with The Great One after treating him badly during his early years with WWE. A couple of months back, Road Dogg made his return to WWE under the new management and took up the role of the Senior Vice President of live events.
