After weeks of mudslinging, Logan Paul emerged as the winner at the AO Arena in Manchester, United Kingdom, on October 14. He beat his opponent Dillon Danis via a disqualification as the MMA fighter landed punches at the wrong time and the wrong opponent in a match that has been panned by critics. But hours after his boxing match, something big might be waiting for The Maverick.

The YouTube star-turned-boxer-and-pro wrestler made an announcement right after his match, which might have placed him on course for a WWE’s Crown Jewel PLE.

Logan Paul called out Rey Mysterio after picking up the win against Danis. The 28-year-old said he’s an American boy and is looking to win the American Championship. The gold currently belongs to Rey Mysterio, who defeated Austin Theory to win it.

The Hall of Famer agreed to the challenge and gave Paul his location- SmackDown on Friday. Soon, Paul replied that the two would meet. The promotion also kept an eye on the exchange as it shared an emoji that hinted at a showdown. If a match takes place, it is almost guaranteed that Logan Paul will not fight on a SmackDown episode. It has to be a premium live event. The closest is Crown Jewel 2023, which will take place in Saudi Arabia on November 4.

Paul currently doesn’t have any more boxing fights scheduled. So, is he poised to take on Mysterio and take the title from the 48-year-old? It makes more sense to give a younger wrestler the belt and relieve the Luchador from the compulsion to defend it regularly.

Fans will, however, have to wait for an official announcement from the WWE to know for sure that the two are butting heads.

A belt for Logan Paul could auger well for him and WWE

Whether you like him or not, there’s no denying that Logan Paul has been a part of some good matches. While his wrestling career is new and he lacks the finesse of some of his hallowed pro wrestling colleagues, Paul’s aerial skills are envious.

His spots with Ricochet in both Money In the Bank PLE and the 2023 Royal Rumble have earned massive praise from fans and critics. Paul also earned plaudits from Seth Rollins after The Visionary defeated him at WrestleMania 39. Soon after the marquee event, Logan Paul renewed his contract with the company.

So, a belt for him will mean he’ll spend more time in the promotion and will not limit himself to appearances at PLEs. This also means getting Paul’s casual fans to watch more of his WWE content, thus increasing the viewership numbers.
