Bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger has made quite few WWE related appearances over the years and has close ties with some people in the company. Despite him getting into a scripted altercation with Triple H during his first WWE appearance in 1999, we never got to see the ‘Austrian Oak’ wrestle. However, a decade ago, Schwarzenegger got into a war of words with a WWE superstar on Twitter. This led many fans to believe that a possible in-ring debut may be on the cards for the Hollywood icon.

The exchange happened between Schwarzenegger and WWE superstar Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler held the Money in the Bank briefcase in 2012 and tweeted about going through the recent book of the Terminator actor, once he would cash in his briefcase. Arnold replied to Ziggler’s tweet, and this led to a back-and-forth between the two.
When Arnold Schwarzenegger engaged in a war of words with Ziggler
A lot of WWE stars have had interactions with professionals from other sports over the years. A lot of celebrities have also wrestled under the WWE banner and have built close connections with the company. Arnold Schwarzenegger is one such name that has left his imprint in WWE as well.
In 2012, the Hollywood action star got into a banter with WWE star Dolph Ziggler on Twitter. It all kicked off when Ziggler tweeted about grabbing Arnold’s latest book after he would cash in his Money in the Bank contract to become a World Champion.
Arnold replied and wrote, “Good luck with that, and enjoy the book @HEELZiggler. Appreciate the support.” In response, Ziggler showed off his heel characteristics and tweeted, “@Schwarzenegger haha relax brother, I don’t need luck & I’m not a fan, just a heads up, I’m on my way to being a much bigger STAR than you!”. The back and forth continued further. Schwarzenegger said it is going to take more than a book for Ziggler to do that. Ziggler carried the banter forward and called him old news and referred to himself as the future.

It may appear that Ziggler was staying true to his heel persona during his exchange with the seven-time Mr. Olympia winner. This exchange will go down as memorable and unexpected as any. Arnold was scheduled to appear on WWE RAW soon after and the fans thought it could all be a work to lead into a match between the two, but nothing materialized.
