It surprised the NBA fanbase when Kevin Durant recently asked for his release from the Brooklyn Nets. Being one of the biggest names in the NBA, KD has made himself available hours before the new league season officially begins.

As per the ESPN website, Kevin Durant asked Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai for a trade from the franchise on Thursday, as sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, despite signing a four-year, $198 million max extension in August.

This decision of Kevin Durant is for him to be on the next level in his career. However, the decision of Durant hasn’t been loved by some NBA fans who have been rooting for him in the Nets for a long time.

Former WWE Champion The Iron Sheik is one of those fans who did not like Durant’s decision. Also, he is famous for tweeting about Hulk Hogan. This time, The Iranian wrestler shared a tweet for Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

Sheik tweeted, “KD AND THE KYRIE WHEREVER YOU GO AS LONG AS YOU GO F**K YOURSELF”.

As history says, The Iron Sheik has always tweeted about what’s going on in his mind. He is not in the favor of the Slim Reaper leaving Brooklyn Nets. As per ESPN, The Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat are two of the teams Durant has at the top of his list. While Durant has asked for his release, his teammate Kyrie Irving opted to stay with the Nets for the foreseeable future.

He opted into his $36.5 million option with the team on Monday after receiving no sign-and-trade interest from teams other than the Los Angeles Lakers. Irving and Durant had no contact with the Nets since the former opted for his deal on Monday.

Kevin Durant leads a nWo group of his own in the NBA

Kevin Durant is a wrestling fan and is a fan of the legendary WCW group nWo which later came to WWE. While speaking with Sports Illustrated last year, Kevin Durant spoke about how he has his own nWo in Brooklyn Nets with James Harden and Kyrie Irving.

When asked whether Durant ever felt like he was leading the NWO of the NBA, he said, “I don’t”.”It kind of looks that way, right? Our team wears all black. And we kind of got three guys on the team that a lot of fans in the NBA don’t really like as much. It can seem that way. But I don’t think we take on that mentality.”

He added, “I think we come in and operate at a pretty smooth, easy, reserved level. We’re just very high-skilled guys. But I guess [from] the outside perception, it can seem that way. But for us, we just really enjoy to play every day.”
