Pat McAfee fires on AEW using the name of Urban Meyer
Just before the rematch between former WWE United States champion Cesaro and Holland. McAfee said, “Like Shahid Khan tossed Urban Myers out of Jacksonville,” referencing the recent firing of Meyer.
The reason why this is a dig to AEW is Shahid Khan is the father of Tony Khan, and his father fired Meyer after 13 games in the season because of his disastrous decision-making on the field. Meyer failed to complete his first year with the outfit after signing a five-year deal with the Jags.
Meyer went just 2–11 during his tenure as the Jaguars’ coach. However, it was Meyer’s controversies that got more limelight both on the field and off the field.

SmackDown commentator, McAfee is known for his witty improvisation while calling the matches and the Jaguars fans immediately understood the reference he said on tonight’s SmackDown.
However, earlier, McAfee himself criticized Meyer for his tactics and how his decisions damaged the reputation of the Jacksonville Jaguars and its players on his podcast.
However, we have to tune in for next week’s AEW Dynamite to see whether AEW president Tony Khan addresses this situation of McAfee name dropping his father.
