The wrestling community was taken aback after Jack Perry‘s involvement in the Blood & Guts match on AEW Dynamite 07/24. His team ultimately lost against Team AEW. Moreover, that loss didn’t come without agonizing spots. There was a spot when Jungle Boy was tied to the metal cage and Mark Briscoe came running towards him with a steel chair in his hand, only to bash it on his head.

Fans were worried that this may have given him a concussion. To oppose this view, some people claimed that the chair was shaved and was a gimmick chair. But a former WWE referee who thinks otherwise was recently called out online.

Jimmy Korderas, popular for serving over 2 decades as a referee in the Stamford-based company, recently uploaded a video on his X handle. He tried to bust the claims surrounding the ‘gimmick chair’.

He stood in the ring with a steel chair that is typically used in wrestling and revealed that no matter how ‘shaved’ it is, it will still be a steel chair, pointing toward how harmful Jack Perry’s spot may have been.

QT Marshall, AEW’s Vice President of Show and Creative Coordination got fired up and tweeted in reaction. “You have zero clue what you’re speaking of. If you would like, you can come to @aew and we can show you what we do to protect the talent. Or you can continue to be ignorant. Take your pick,” announced the wrestler.

QT Marshall’s view gains support after the Jack Perry spot

The Blood & Guts match on AEW Dynamite was infamous for all the violence that it contained. The fans loved the hardcore nature but were shocked to see that specific spot, including Jack Perry. While everyone wondered whether he was safe after the match, Dave Meltzer also confessed on the Wrestling Observer Radio that he wasn’t a fan of it. This is when Bryan Alvarez claimed that he was sure that the chair was a gimmick chair and not the actual steel one that Jimmy suspected to be.

However, he also said that he is not aware of how shaved down it must be and how soft it would have been since he wasn’t there to check it. But somehow, Alvarez was sure that it wasn’t an actual steel chair. If this is the case, then Jack Perry will continue his wrestling career just fine, otherwise, this would have been a substantial risk that the company should not have taken with a talent. After coming across Jimmy’s tweet, QT Marshall would be happy to know that there are wrestling personalities who believe his claim.
