Christian said, “I was a free agent. I wasn’t locked in anywhere before [signing with AEW]. I had the opportunity to explore all my options and did that.”
‘Captain Charisma’ then gave the example of his run in TNA (now IMPACT Wrestling). He said it was about believing in himself in 2005, and it is the same today.

“When I left WWE [for IMPACT Wrestling] in 2005, I believed in betting on yourself. You can’t go wrong when you do that. You have to make the best choice for you as a person and performer. For me, that choice was AEW,” said the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
Christian Cage made the shocking switch from WWE to AEW at Revolution on March 7th. No one saw it coming. Hence, his appearance sent shock-waves throughout the professional wrestling community. Not just his, but the Big Show’s announcement, too, came as an enormous surprise.
