The pro-wrestling industry for a long time has comprised promoters, bookers, and wrestlers. The promoters mainly handle the office work and the booker’s responsibility was to book matches and co-ordinate with the wrestlers. Currently, there are two biggest promoters in the pro-wrestling world, Vince McMahon, and newly entered Tony Khan.
The wrestlers and promoters have kept a professional relationship for a long time. Vince McMahon is friends with a few wrestlers and has kept a professional relationship with others.
However, Tony Khan has broken the barriers of the same and is friendly with the entire AEW roster.

Recently, Jim Cornette along with co-host Brain Last on his YouTube show spoke about wrestlers’ and promoters’ relationships. They talked about Tony Khan’s relationship with the AEW roster. Brian asked Jim about the wrestlers and promoter relationships back in the pre-sports entertainment era.
Cornette said, “The bookers were more social with the boys than the promoters were most of the time.” “The promoter was all office, the boys were always boys, and the booker was one of the boys that became office.”
Jim claimed there was sometimes heat between the wrestlers, promoter, and the booker. Although, sometimes everyone even hung out together, and the relationship was very professional.
Jim Cornette on Tony Khan
While discussing the pre-sports entertainment era, Jim Cornette gave his opinion about Tony Khan.
Cornette said, “None of the promoters at that point in time, it’s not they didn’t want to be friends with the guys. But it was friends in a business environment and not ‘gosh I’m so lucky that I’m the promoter and getting to hang out with all of the wrestlers, which is the vibe that you get from Tony Khan.”
According to Jim Cornette, Tony has fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a wrestling company and has made a relationship in which he is a friend first and promoter later. This liberty can cause Tony Khan huge losses in the future, according to Cornette.
