The WWE chairman acts like a tough guy on screen. But in reality, Vince McMahon is a gem of a guy who actually cares for the people working for him. Former WWE superstar, Mark Henry, is one guy who got to see the caring nature of the WWE chairman. Even though Henry left WWE for lack of opportunities, he still has massive respect for Vince McMahon for a specific reason.

In a recent episode of the Busted Open podcast, Henry talked about the incident, which made him respect Vince McMahon more than ever. Henry revealed that the WWE chairman knew he was a mama’s guy and when she passed away, he immediately called him.

Mark Henry described what Vince McMahon said to him following his mother’s demise

During the episode, the former WWE superstar revealed that there was a level of respect that he gave Vince McMahon for the rest of his career after he called him on that day.

Henry said, “He might have been like one of the first two or three people that I answered the phone. He said, ‘You deal with this the way that you deal with. Don’t worry about work.’ He said, ‘You come back when you get back if it’s six months from now if it’s a year from now.’ I was thinking to myself, like, what? Like he, they never called me.”

Further, Henry claimed he stayed at home for three and a half months, but got his check every week. The former WWE superstar admitted bosses don’t do such a thing. They would call within a week after you have a death in your family and ask if you can be at work. But that was not the case with Vince.

Earlier in an episode, Henry revealed what Vince said to him when he informed him of leaving WWE. Vince actually was optimistic about Henry’s future and told him that WWE will come knocking on his door once again in three years. Well, let’s see if WWE actually brings back Mark Henry.
