AEW has made a statement since it has debuted on TNT in 2019 that they will show a bit more hardcore product than WWE. For over two years, AEW could showcase some classic matches, for example, Britt Baker vs Thunder Rosa. Booker T is one of the ex-WWE superstars who has praised AEW always.
WWE shows matches that give moments and aren’t that edgier so that their young fans could enjoy it. AEW showcases extreme matches, which include wrestlers busted open while WWE only keeps such matches for big occasions.

Recently, Hangman Adam Page vs Lance Archer headline AEW Dynamite in a Texas Deathmatch. Recently, Booker T shared his opinion when he appeared in the Hall of Fame podcast. His view was AEW should keep matches like this which have Tables, Ladders, Chairs, and Blood for PPVs instead of TV shows.

Booker T said, “But, I do think for PPV, man that is money. That’s giving me a whole lot more, that’s giving me a little bit extra. On a Wednesday night, going out with blood and gore, it’s hard for me to watch, honestly.”
He added, “Then again, maybe it’s just not my cup of tea, it may be yours. But I do think for PPV, that would be much more appealing for me as a fan, waiting for something special.” (H/T Wrestling Inc.)
Hardcore wrestling fans find the edgier product much more appealing than what WWE shows. But there is always a special moment and place for these types of matches and Booker T thinks AEW doesn’t follow this pattern.
How many PPVs do AEW and WWE conduct?
WWE has a PPV every month, so they keep big moments for grand events throughout the year, such as WrestleMania or SummerSlam. Also, Crown Jewel in recent years Since WWE started going to Saudi Arabia.
AEW does only four to five PPVs in a year, which includes big moments. So maybe to bridge that gap of fewer PPVs AEW shows big moment matches on TV Shows.
Booker T talks about a different level of wrestling shows for AEW and WWE
Booker T shared an opinion on there are different levels of wrestling shows. These different shows help wrestlers to perfect their performances.

The house shows are where wrestlers can try to test new moves or gimmicks. On TV shows, they have to show fans everything but at a limit. As for PPV, Booker T said, “Then, when you get to that PPV, that’s when you have to really go out and give them their money’s worth.”
