Fans who were present in Orlando, Florida to watch the latest installment of AEW Dynamite were in for a treat. A former WWE star from the Attitude Era and now a producer at AEW made his way to the ring to surprise fans. Even though the event is interesting, let’s just say his sudden appearance made it ‘2 Hot’.

WWE star from the Attitude Era had his first AEW match

In a shocking event, WWE Hall of Famer and Rikishi’s former tag team partner Scott Garland aka Scotty 2 Hotty had his first-ever AEW fight. Wrestling fans saw the star teaming up with AEW’s The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens and Billy Gunn. The five-man team took down The Gunns (Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn) and 2Point0 (Matt Menard & Angelo Parker). For the fans who still love the Attitude Era, he did make his entry to the ring while his theme song from WWE Too Cool played in the background.

Scotty 2 Hotty or Scott Garland currently works as a producer at AEW and a coach. The news came out in the summer of 2023 that Garland had been given a tryout. He also added that if things go the right way, he might be doing more behind-the-scenes work with AEW. Before embarking on independent circuits, Garland trained the upcoming talents of WWE at the company’s performance center. However, his stint as the NXT trainer was short, lasting from September 2016 to November 2021.

But fans will always remember him from his Too Much/ Too Cool days. Taylor had teamed up with ‘Too Sexy’ Bryan Christopher for the WrestleMania 14 tag team battle royale back in 1998. While Taylor was initially quite the opposite of the character he is known today, he quickly adopted his Too Hot persona later on. Dubbed the Too Much, the duo formed an official tag team. Later on, Rikishi joined them but was not an official member of the stable.

The trio garnered a stellar reputation for their hip-hop personas. That decade’s rising hip-hop culture inspired them in their presentation. They used to deliver raps, now known as ‘disses’ aiming at their opponents. However, the trio did witness some ups and downs. While the faction did take a break following Christopher’s injury, the trio later united and officially made Rikishi a part of their faction.
