Two-Time Hall Of Famer Booker T has been around for quite some time now, 30 years to be precise. And in these 3 decades, he has seen the business change like no other. He had a successful stint with WCW in the 90s where he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship five times.

Then he moved on to WWE in 2001 and has been associated with them ever since. Currently, he is signed to WWE where he serves as a commentator on the NXT brand. He is also the founder of the independent promotion ‘Reality of Wrestling’ (ROW). So he is well versed with the management of a wrestling promotion. Hence he recently took the liberty to comment on AEW rejecting Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart’s pitch to become their manager.

Bret Hart is one of the few wrestlers who are synonymous with the Golden and New Generation Era of WWE. He successfully served in the WWE between 1984-1997 and won the WWE Championship 5 times in that period. But in spite of such a glorious record, he is still remembered for the infamous ‘Montreal Screwjob’ where he was robbed of the WWE Championship by Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels.

He later joined WCW for a short while and then retired from professional wrestling owing to an injury he sustained during a match with Goldberg in 2000. Post that he made many appearances in the WWE and even shook hands with Vince McMahon, thus burying the hatchet of ‘The Montreal ScrewJob’.

Not so long ago he pitched himself to be one of the managers for AEW but was turned down and Booker T was quick to point out why.

On his podcast “Hall Of Fame”, Booker T explained that he felt that Bret Hart was too old to be a manager. Booker T said, “You know, as much as I love Bret Hart, and I don’t want, you know, people to end up taking this the wrong way and putting it out there the wrong way or anything like that. But it’s the reason why I’m the oldest guy on my crew. Because I got a bunch of young guys, a bunch of young talent, a bunch of young thinkers.” He added that he amalgamates his experience with inputs from the young guns to stay up to date.

In conclusion, he referred to Bret Hart saying, “I’m not looking to bring in someone who looked at wrestling from the way it was done in the past. That’s just me.”
