Bobby Lashley was last seen wrestling on WWE TV in April when he was defeated while trying to earn a shot to challenge the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion. Since then, he has featured in a few house shows but didn’t appear on TV. Now it seems like there will be no more screen time for him in the leading wrestling promotion.
The wrestler’s contract with WWE is coming to an end and reports suggest that he may not ink an extension. Considering how active he still is in the ring, it seems unlikely that Lashley will retire already. So, will he be jumping ships now?

There have been several talent exchanges in the past between WWE and AEW because both promotions are currently leading in the wrestling world in terms of revenue and viewership on TV. As per reports, Lashley’s contract with WWE is ending, and he has been removed from the company’s internal roster. So, it would make sense if he continued the wrestling journey someplace else.
AEW could make a place for him on the roster even if he demands more money from Tony Khan for his next contract. The internet wrestling community is well aware of how AEW’s contracts can allure some talents because of the money that Khan offers. Moreover, this will also grant him extended opportunities that he probably wasn’t getting over at WWE.
Jumping ship to the Florida-based promotion could also pave the way for new, enthralling matchups for Lashley. Since he wasn’t getting any screen time in WWE, AEW could offer him a substantial place in their roster which could culminate in a title run. It has been long since Lashley last adored a championship around his waist, making it an intriguing prospect for fans.

Finally, the Hurt Business could also reform itself in AEW since MVP is now being released by the Stamford-based company.
Lashley isn’t the only one who will be jumping ships
Apart from Lashley, MVP and Tamina Snuka are also leaving WWE around the same time. Additionally, reports also claim that these three won’t be the last talents released by the promotion right now. On the contrary, WWE and AEW have more moves to make. So, not only will we see more stars released from each promotion, but they could also join the other company right away or show up in different promotions altogether. This means there is still time for the leading wrestling promotion to release the leftover members of the Hurt Business so that they can reunite again under a new name.

However, Tony Khan won’t rest on his laurels either as he could look to revamp his roster. In fact, we will see him doing multiple lay-offs too, according to WrestlePurists on social media. The names of the stars are still unclear, but we will probably have all the names out publicly by the end of July. Some stars might end up in WWE if the management finds itself interested in them.
