Will AEW's partnership with DC Comics revolutionize wrestling entertainment or is it just a marketing gimmick?

Tony Khan is expanding his company to new domains through partnerships that wrestling fans probably did not see coming. Licensing, partnerships, and collaborations are a big part of running a promotion in the pro wrestling industry. However, Khan has a surprise for wrestling fans that they might not have expected anytime soon.

The entrepreneur has good relations with WBD and has been offered an extension contract to stay on their channels, which he may be accepting soon. The mass media and entertainment conglomerate has offered another partnership to the wrestling company that has been teased early.

Comic-Con will start on the 25th of July at the San Diego Convention Center. Room 6BCF will host a panel on AEW’s rise and upcoming partnership on the first day of the event itself from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm PDT. WBD will be announcing new partnerships between AEW and two more of its subsidiaries. Ahead of the event, the panel revealed, “This year Comic-Con will be the intersection of major announcements across different fandoms, including a DC Comics partnership and an Adult Swim on-the-ground brand integration.

These partnerships could mean that some of the renowned names that are signed to AEW’s contract might get featured in the DC comics or could also be featured in animations over at the Adult Swim channel. The partnerships would probably be further elaborated at the convention panel on the given date and time. Fans interested in knowing more about the same can register themselves for the event.

After the contract that WBD offered Khan, this is the next set of news that may reap profit for the company. However, much like his previous deal, this could also receive criticism.

There had been several reports about AEW’s contract with TNA and TBS ending soon. Consistent complications caused wrestling fans to ponder whether the promotion would have to find a new home. However, WBD eventually entered negotiations with AEW’s president to come to a mutual agreement and sign a contract that was mutually beneficial for both parties. Reports started coming in about how the contract has a high possibility of getting signed and WWE’s competition will persist broadcasting with the same conglomerate.

When Eric Bischoff came to know about this deal, he did not think it would work out for either of the companies in the future. According to him, even if the contract is lucrative and gives money to the company in question, it won’t be fruitful because he believes AEW is still underperforming and it won’t be sustainable for either of the companies to enter this contract. Despite what the former WWE employee thinks, WBD appears to be going through with the contract and is also offering Tony Khan more partnerships for the future to keep the roster busy.
