Cody Rhodes‘ picked an impressive yet controversial win at WWE backlash this week against Brock Lesnar. Cody got his mojo back after surpassing a few setbacks since his unexpected WrestleMania loss against Roman Reigns. Lesnar entered the scene shortly, paving the way for a new feud during Raw after WrestleMania. Ever since then, The Beast Incarnate has his eyes fixed on the American Nightmare. He didn’t give up even after receiving a defeat at Backlash. This Monday night Raw saw Lesnar challenging Cody for another match at the Night of Champions to resume their high-octane rivalry.
We don’t know whether Cody will be able to prevail over Lesnar but his inspiring footprints will surely prevail forever, not only in WWE but also in AEW which he left last year. He inspired a plethora of young blood who still feel utterly grateful to the 37-year-old.

One of them is current AEW star Terry Yaki who made his debut in Tony Khan’s promotion last year alongside Jay Lucas during AEW’s dark show. He, however, has been actively performing under an independent ring since 2021. A.R. Fox, QT Marshall, and Cody Rhodes trained Terry in Atlanta, Ga. at WWA4 Wrestling School and the Nightmare Factory. Recently, he sat one on one with Jeremy Lambert & Stephen Jensen on The Spotlight and discussed Rhodes’s role in his rise in AEW.
The Real Deal noted, “Me, Jay Lucas, and Larry Lazard did the Nightmare Factory and, through the Nightmare Factory, we met with QT Marshall, Cody Rhodes, Baron Black, and guys like that. Cody Rhodes was talking to the whole class, and he said, ‘Closed mouths don’t get fed.’ That was the big thing. Me, Jay, and Larry looked at each other and said, ‘Well, we’ll ask about it.’ We asked about it. He gave us Shawn Dean’s information and hit him up. He was cool, shout out to Shawn Dean. I appreciate it. From there, we rolled in and it happened for us,”
However, the list doesn’t end here. There are numerous other wrestlers from different promotions who think the same as Terry Yaki when it comes to the former executive vice president of AEW.
ROH wrestler Joe Hendry also received massive help from Rhodes
One such name is Joe Hendry, who was a part of Ring of Honor, the same promotion Cody was a part of at some time in his illustrious career. The former AEW star came to the safe of the wrestler during a crucial moment of his pro wrestling career.
When Rhodes left AEW, there were many who acknowledged him for his contribution to the company and beyond. The Scottish wrestler Joe Hendry was certainly one among them. He chose to share a personal story to point out how attentive Cody is toward his peers and juniors.
His tweet spoke about a time when Handry was struggling to get his hold on the wrestling world. It was Cody Rhodes who noticed and shared some necessary contacts regarding ROH that served the 33-year-old greatly.
