In a recent appearance on the ‘Inside the Ropes’ podcast, Amore talked about getting fired from the WWE and wanting to join a new promotion. And during this conversation, he revealed his thoughts on whether he would want to join AEW. He said that he was interested in joining but did not get a reply from the Tony Khan-led promotion. And now, if they want him, they have their number to contact him.
“I think a few years ago, I was in contact with them. There was a lack of interest on their end, and they were bringing in Big Cass. And honestly, no, the answer is no. You know, I’m doing fine in my life. They know my phone number, if they wanted to get in touch with me and contact with me, they could. People know that I’m a draw when it comes to television.” He further revealed that when Brodie Lee, unfortunately, passed away, Amore watched the tribute show that AEW organized in Lee’s memory. And the former WWE superstar turned rapper was so moved that he actually wrote a letter to Tony Khan, thanking him for honoring the life of his friend.
“I’ll tell you what did it. Brody, one of my good buddies, Luke Harper, known as Luke Harper in the WWE. When he passed away, that was the first time I tuned into AEW to see the show that they put on for him. And I thought to myself at that time, I even wrote a letter to Tony Khan. I don’t know if he ever got it, but thanking him for doing that. Just what you did for my friend, the way you honored him and the other company that he used to work for didn’t really honor him at all. And I just thought it was class and that they did something right.”

Likewise, he and Big Cass tried to do the same. But at the joint event between NJPW and ROH: G1 Supercard in 2019. They met the same fate again. Thus, the involvement of Enzo Amore or Big Cass in either ROH or NJPW never became a reality, despite the rumors. Cass is now part of AEW under the ring name W. Morrissey, while Amore was known as Real1 in the MLW ranks before he was fried from there as well.
