Many consider Bron Breakker to be the face of WWE in the future. After a fruitful stint in NXT in which besides winning the NXT Championship twice and the Tag Team Championship with Baron Corbin, he became the main face of the brand.

His stunning achievements paved the way for his ascension to the main roster last February when he joined SmackDown. Later he switched to Monday Night Raw during the Draft. Now, a legend of the business has made his opinion on the fighter known.

In fact, in the latest podcast episode, they talked about how Bron Breakker shares similarities with another AEW superstar, Wardlow. In fact, this comparison could have invoked caution from WWE about Breakker’s booking to avoid the mistakes Tony Khan made. But what are the similarities? Let’s find out.

There is no doubt that Bron Breakker has become one of WWE’s brightest stars. He continues his rise in WWE, having defeated Ricochet on the June 3 episode of WWE Raw and his next match will be against Ilja Dragunov on June 10 on WWE Raw.

Undoubtedly, the WWE is serious about the former NXT Champion, so it would not be unreasonable for the company to continue giving him minutes and relevance in the weekly programming.

Bron Breakker impresses AEW and WWE veteran

This trust in a new superstar is something that is very similar to what happened in AEW’s Wardlow, according to Bully Ray in the Busted Open Podcast. Wardlow was on the rise in 2021 after parting ways with MJF and became among the top stars in AEW for a while.

This is very similar to what is being seen with Bron Breakker. As Ray said, “And you know Dave, the first thing I thought of last night and I hate to make the comparison, but it’s true. It’s the way Bron is gonna get over with the WWE universe, and the way Wardlow was getting over in AEW. You can see the similarities in the two right?”

However, this wasn’t the only similarity noticed by the podcasters. As co-host Dave LaGreca described how the two are also similar in terms of physicalities. “Yeah, they are very similar. I mean, Wardlow much bigger but Wardlow just like Bron is very quick on his feet. And you know and right away when Bron moved to the main roster, he made his presence felt. I felt Wardlow did the same thing.” However, despite having clinched several achievements in the following months, Wardlow’s prominence on television fell over time and he lost a tremendous amount of support from the fans. A mistake WWE would like to avoid.

So, little by little, Breakker has been getting time in the spotlight in weekly programming. At the time of writing, he is involved in a story with Ricochet, Ilja Dragunov, and Adam Pearce.
