One such tag team is the Hardy Boyz. After dropping a subtle hint a few weeks ago, Matt Hardy teased once again his desire to fight at the Show of the Shows this year.

Matt Hardy reminisces about the golden days

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) the Sensei Of Mattitude posted a clip from one of the Hardy Boyz’s career-defining matches. The clip is from WrestleMania X8 where the tag team duo faced off against Billy & Chuck, The Dudely Boyz, and the APA. While Matt and Jeff Hardy did not win the championship belt, they earned rave reviews for putting up a stellar performance in the Fatal-4-Way tag team match. Matt Hardy posted this clip just a few days after the rumors of the Hardy Boyz’s return to WWE surfaced.

The word around the town is that Matt Hardy’s AEW contract is about to expire soon and his brother’s contract will expire later this year. This prompted a fan to ask the older Hardy whether it was time for him to retire from pro wrestling.

To this, the one-half of Hardy Boyz replied by saying, “No, I am not retiring from active wrestling anytime soon.” After that, the wrestling community started buzzing with speculations that the two might challenge the current ruling tag team champions, Damian Priest and Finn Balor at WrestleMania 40.

However, there is one catch to the whole thing. Will Jeff Hardy be cleared to wrestle before WrestleMania 40?

What’s up with Jeff Hardy?

Jeff Hardy has been absent from AEW for quite some time now. The reason is that he had suffered an injury at the hands of Sammy Guevara almost a month ago. While Hardy broke his nose, Guevara faced suspension as the AEW star did not follow the concise concussion protocols that are supposed to be followed.

While Guevara faces suspension, Jeff Hardy underwent surgery for his broken nose and is advised to rest. There is no timeline as to when fans could expect to see him back in the ring.
