The world has seen several types of gimmick matches in WWE for a long time. Many other promotions try to use those matches for their shows. Similarly, AEW has planned to use a trademark WWE match in their company by changing the name of it. However, the wrestling world is not happy with AEW using this famous gimmick match in their company.

Before the Revolution pay-per-view, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone shared the rules for the ‘Final Burial’ match. Jungle Boy and Christian Cage went toe to toe in a Final Burial match at AEW Revolution. Jungle Boy won the match after burying the WWE legend.
The rules of the match were similar to a Buried Alive Match or a Casket/Coffin match that WWE introduced as trademark matches of The Undertaker. As AEW cannot copy the name, the concept of the match was similar to what fans saw for years.
There's no denying the killer instinct of @boy_myth_legend now!

Even though the match between Jungle Boy and Christian Cage was a good one, it didn’t create the crowd noise at Taker vs Mankind had. As per JBL, the initially Buried Alive match had terrified the fans back in the 90s.

The wrestling fans now really want AEW to come up with something new after remodeling WWE’s Buried Alive and Coffin match into one.
Why Jungle Boy and Christian Cage had a Final Burial match?
The WWE legend joined AEW and quickly became a mentor of Jungle Boy and Luchasauras. After sometime there was a dispute and started a feud. In their feud, Cage and Perry went about bringing up each other’s personal life in their promos.

Jungle Boy even talked about Cage’s recent divorce that was finalized in 2020. The former world champion brought Perry’s mother and his deceased father, Luke Perry, in his promo. Therefore, the former AEW World Tag Team Champion challenged Cage in a Final Burial match as a result of mentioning his father everytime.
