On the April 24th episode of AEW Dynamite from Jacksonville, Florida, Jack Perry made his surprise return to AEW. He teamed up with “The Elite” Young Bucks & Kazuchika Okada on a rampage that knocked out President Tony Khan. Perry entered the venue with Kazuchika Okada and Young Bucks, and later it came to light that he would join The Elite.

Then he appeared in the ring after the main event. He called President Khan and held out his right hand, asking him to take him back into the company. When President Khan shook hands, the two embraced. But the next moment Perry landed a body blow. Then Okada and the Young Bucks arrived and finished the beat down with a TK driver. Ever since Tony Khan has been away from the AEW while the Elite runs the show. So what’s next in plans for Tony Khan? Well, we may have an update on that front.

In the latest edition of the Busted Open podcast, Dave LaGreca, Bully Ray & Tommy Dreamer talked about all the recent storylines surrounding AEW Dynamite and Double or Nothing. And one major topic of discussion was the return of Tony Khan. On the topic, they revealed that the most important element of the story would be giving Khan a redemption arc. And AEW should make sure that Khan earns his company back from the Elite by being a part of the angle. And the best time for his return would be at war games.

They said, “Because this should end in the war games or this should end in Tony Khan getting control back of his company, not that he’s lost control. I mean, honestly, if you could go back, something’s gonna happen. Tony Khan is simple, slamming the cage door. And, you know, Nick or Matt Jackson’s head, boom, one, two, three, the show’s over. You know, that’s a nice payback to our boss that got it.”

They further added, “Tony Khan’s revenge is important to this story. You can’t just allow the heels to do what they did to Tony Khan without Tony Khan getting back at the EVPs and at Jack Perry. If you just have the babyfaces go over, you have ruined your opportunity to build up to a moment.”

The involvement of the president and other executives and their families in the story showcases the twists and turns that professional wrestling can put out. So it won’t be wrong to speculate that Khan will be in the game to advance the story. However, in an interview on Cincy 360 with Rick Ucchino and Tony Pike, Tony Khan talked about the possibility of ever stepping into the AEW ring as a wrestler and getting his revenge against The Elite. And unfortunately for the fans of the promotion, Khan believes that he shouldn’t wrestle considering his belief that AEW is the place where the best wrestle. But what do you think of the plan as laid out by the wrestling personalities? Should Tony Khan face off against the Elite? Let us know in the comments.
