After leaving the WWE in March 2021, Andrade had an amazing two-year run in All Elite Wrestling. In the Tony Khan-led promotion, Andrade faced wrestlers of the stature of Bryan Danielson, Cody Rhodes, and Claudio Castagnoli, among many others. However, once his contract ended, he surprisingly decided to leave the company and return to WWE. Making his return at Royal Rumble 2024.

While everyone expected Andrade to be satisfied with the Stamford-based promotion, it seems like this isn’t the case after all. He recently talked about WWE’s habit of racially stereotyping its wrestlers. This prompted Tony Khan to take a subtle jibe at Triple H recently on X.

WWE was once infamous for racially stereotyping its wrestlers. Especially when Vince McMahon ran the promotion. Some infamous examples would be the Mexicool, who arrived on Lawnmowers and Cryme Tyme, featuring Shaq Gaspard and JTG as wannabe thugs from the hood. So when McMahon left and Triple H took control of the WWE, everyone expected the WWE to be completely neutral from now on.

The former AEW star replied, “I wonder the same.” The LWO/Legado del Fantasma/JD (Dom and Priest) feud has been going on for over a year. And fans surely want something new on their plates than seeing Latinos fighting each other for more than a year now. This tweet also prompted AEW President Tony Khan to take a jibe at Triple H as he tweeted a GIF that read, “See? I’m not such a bad guy after all.”

Maybe that could be the reason behind Andrade refusing to team up with the Legado del Fantasma again. In the latest edition of SmackDown, Andrade refused the offer by Angel Garza to join Santos Escobar and Humberto Carillo in the faction. In fact, he rejected their offers twice on the same show.

When Escobar got mad at ‘El Idolo’ for refusing the offer, Garza stopped him and told Escobar to please let him talk to Andrade one more time. So it surely seems like the former AEW star wishes to move forward to different factions or a single run. Maybe a feud with a non-Latino wrestler for a change. What do you think? Do you think the WWE is still racially stereotyping its wrestlers? Let us know in the comments.
