After losing a couple of big stars to WWE, Tony Khan might be losing another top talent. Recent names such as Jade Cargill left AEW on purpose to join another promotion. However, Cargill now may be joined by yet another AEW top star. Although there is no confirmation signs are upon us that the AEW World Champion might be leaving the promotion soon.

MJF has served Khan’s wrestling company for a long time. But now, it appears that his term with WWE’s competitor might be over. Either Friedman is ready to switch his workplace, or Tony Khan has made a mistake while revealing the details for a major pay-per-view next year.

Lately, Tony Khan has witnessed a few of his top stars parting ways from AEW. Either they leave the promotion willingly or Khan has had to fire them in exceptional cases. However, this time around a possible slip-up in the company’s marketing tells us that MJF’s future with AEW may be uncertain.

AEW hosted their biggest pay-per-view ever in London on August 27th this year. After the big success of ‘All In’, AEW announced recently that they would be returning to Wembley Stadium in 2024 for the same PPV and advertised a bunch of its top stars. However, there was one glaring name missing in the document shared on the official page.

At the beginning of the second page of the document shared on ‘X’, we can see that AEW is listing the names of their top stars to attract attention from fans. Among various names, we can’t see MJF anywhere. This is a huge deal considering the fact that he is currently the World Champion of the wrestling company.

This could also be just a mistake from the team responsible for preparing this document. However, considering the official nature of the announcement, it wouldn’t be a far stretch to assume that he might be planning to jump ships to another wrestling promotion before August 2024 arrives and AEW may have intentionally left him out. It is important to note that his contract with AEW comes to an end in 2024.

Long before this blunder was even close, MJF gave us hints about how we should be ready to watch him leave AEW whenever he wants to.

The contract that the ‘Silver Tongued Devil’ signed with Tony Khan will end in 2024. Even back in 2021, when it had just begun, he confessed in a magazine interview that he wouldn’t reject the temptation of the ‘highest bidder’. This suggested that if given the opportunity to perform elsewhere, the biggest factor is the money he would be getting.

In the same interview, MJF called himself a ‘businessman’. According to him, he would only go where he sees his profit. So, in this case, if WWE is the higher bidder, we might see the world champion work for the Stamford-based company instead.
