For months now, Becky Lynch‘s contract with the WWE has been in question. The Man’s contract is set to expire soon, and she has yet to re-sign with the company. Fans began speculating that she would move to Tony Khan‘s AEW once her contract ended. However, since she won the WWE Women’s World title, the speculation ended. Unfortunately, her loss at the King and Queen of the Ring in Saudi Arabia fueled those speculations again.

Many stars, like Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins, had long contract negotiations in 2024. Months ahead of WrestleMania XL, McIntyre was rumored to be jumping to Tony Khan’s promotion. Despite winning the WWE World Heavyweight title and losing it on the same night, he still hadn’t re-signed. It took Dwayne Johnson to announce that he re-signed with the company.

Even fans thought Rollins, who lost the title at Mania XL, would leave the WWE. However, he, too, re-singed shortly after the rumors started. Now, it’s his wife’s turn. Many believed that with her book and her run as champion, Lynch would be looking for some time off while getting good pay. This fueled online speculation that she would wait out her contract, drop the title, and move to Khan’s promotion.

After the King and Queen of the Ring PLE, where Lynch lost her title to Liv Morgan, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select had some interesting thoughts. On his livestream after the show, he said, “I would say I’m pretty confident that Tony Khan would be willing to offer her more money than WWE is going to offer her.” This happened to Sasha Banks, who was set to return to the WWE at the Royal Rumble but chose Khan’s offer. Today, as Mercedes Mone she is among the highest-paid stars on Khan’s roster.

While fans hoped that Lynch would continue with the company, Sapp argued that she might not. He said, “I fully believe AEW would initially offer more than WWE. Now, does that mean I think she is going to go there? I don’t know.” Khan has been taking up ex-WWE stars since the start of his promotion. Unfortunately, not all stars have a good storyline.

The biggest criticism Khan has faced as an owner of AEW is the wasted talent on the roster. While the roster has big names like Chris Jericho, Adam Copeland, Kenny Omega, and more, their storylines have not been impressive. Fans’ biggest fear about Lynch jumping to AEW is that she will disappear into the roster.

Mone debuted at AEW’s Big Business PPV in March and to date, hasn’t wrestled in a single match. While she cuts promos weekly, fans have criticized her lackluster run. Even experts and critics in the business have called out the wasted talent on Khan’s roster. What do you think? Will Lynch move to AEW now that she lost the title? Tell us in the comments.
