When it comes to the flaunting game, Tony Khan can be called the master. The AEW Boss has always something or the other to showcase how he does a tremendous job in his business. Despite the constant rating dump, Khan, without any hesitation, noted that the year 2024 will be a game-changer for the promotion. In this exaggerated glorifying habit, Khan once dragged WCW with a degraded comparison. It, unsurprisingly, infuriated the WCW legend Eric Bischoff, who didn’t shy away from calling out the AEW Chief for his audacity and deemed it stupid.

Eric Bischoff bashed Tony Khan for degrading WCW

Tony Khan rubbed many people the wrong way with his overt comments, but he couldn’t care less. However, among all the seasoned Tony Khan detractors, Eric Bischoff has been the most classic. The WCW veteran found several ways to dump the AEW Boss in the past. He generally shows intense disapproval over Khan’s poor booking style. But this time Easy E specifically slammed TK’s over-hyping nature after he compared WCW with his promotion, questioning if WCW ever did a $1 million gate in New York.

Addressing Khan’s imprudent comment in a recent episode of the 83 podcasts, Bischoff noted, “I’ve gotten so used to Tony Khan saying stupid s**t because he’s not the brightest bulb in the Christmas tree. He’s just not. He may be really smart when it comes to data analytics. When Tony Khan makes comparisons and tries to compare AEW and Tony Khan’s approach to the business to WCW, I’m not, I just laugh when we’re talking about 96, 90, even 95, 96, 97, 98. And yes, even in 1999 with wheels falling off and flying down the highway and sparks flying and everything else, Tony Khan and AEW aren’t even close to where WCW was when WCW was on its way to the bottom.”

However, quite contradictorily, Bischoff has not always been a harsh critic of AEW, rather, he appreciates the good part of the business as well.

Eric Bischoff lauded Tony Khan’s recent experimental practice

MJF and Will Ospreay had a grudge match this Monday that lasted a lot longer than usual screen timing. MJF picked the win as the new International Champion after battling hard for 59 minutes and 58 seconds, which is a very exceptional scenario in cable wrestling programs. While the experiment garnered different responses from the global audiences, Bischoff seemed to be largely satisfied with it.

Bischoff, who rarely has something positive to say about Tony Khan, confessed that TK deserves praise for trying something different on TV. Despite not being able to watch the match, the veteran said no matter if the idea failed or gained traction, surprising the audience with something they never got to see is itself a great thing.
