Tony Khan is all ready to launch another Blockbuster PLE, AEW Double or Nothing on May 29 in Las Vegas. The PPV on the backdrop of the company’s glorious sixth anniversary with a total of 11 scheduled matches so far is supposed to be an important junction to elevate Khan’s current business graph. On that account, the AEW Boss continued to tease some cool things for the show and promised to deliver a classic showdown with the unified star power of the bigwigs like Ospreay, Jon Moxley, Adam Copeland, Mercedes Mone, The Elite, etc.

While only time will reveal whether or not Khan can succeed in his efforts to improve the traffic parameters, the ticket sales numbers are keeping the candles of hope burning.

Double or Nothing 2019 was the kick-off event under the AEW banner and saw the company make a statement with even lighter weight. Jon Moxley’s crucial debut and a highly intriguing brother vs. brother war between Cody and Dustin Rhodes worked as a game-changer for that 5-year-old PLE. Things have not been the same anymore in terms of evolved fans’ tastes, ongoing trends, business strategies, market demand, etc. Moving on from that highly inaugural event, Khan is looking to double the DON success in 2024, leading to a fulfilling AEW era in the onrushing time. His continuous efforts to pump the fans’ spirit have already started to bear fruit if we look at the ticket sales graph. According to WrestleTix, one of the most trusted trackers of ticket sales for wrestling events, sales soared to 6,878 tickets sold, leaving 933 available in the current setup of 7,811 seats.

While the pre-show enthusiasm, as depicted in the ticket sales, looks promising, the current trend in viewership numbers showed quite the opposite.

Those who eagerly wait every week for Dynamite to come up with some better numbers each week continue to be disappointed, as the situation isn’t moving anywhere for good. With the landmark AEW PPV right around the corner, the weekly shows are persistently scoring some historically low viewership ratings. Despite adding strategic intrigue like Kenny Omega’s big return, and Khan’s injury storyline at the hands of Young Bucks and The Elite, the audiences doesn’t seem convinced about the quality. It eventually burst into an all-time lowest mark during the May 15th Dynamite episode.

Although the traction improved a bit in the Double or Nothing Go-Home episode, WWE NXT still runs higher with the numbers pulling in an iconic American Women’s Champion title qualifier match between Jaida Parker and Brinley Reece.
