Maxwell Jacob Friedman, aka MJF, is a major part of AEW programming now. There are certainly big expectations from MJF giving the talent he has got. He is currently playing a heel character and has gathered a lot of attraction from the fans. However, there have been reports about interest from WWE towards the AEW superstar.

During an interview with Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports, Tony Khan was asked about the recent report that stated there is interest from FOX, USA Network, and WWE towards MJF.

In reply, The AEW President said, “I think that’s great. I really, I encourage that; I think they should keep talking about him because he’s a wrestler that’s a big part of AEW and is signed here for a few more years.”

“So, I think, please keep giving us that buzz because he’s been getting great ratings for his segments and those have also been featuring CM Punk pretty regularly as they continue to interact and they’ve had a war of words,” he added.

The AEW superstar’s current contract ends in 2024. It will be interesting to see if he stays in AEW or makes the switch to WWE after the expiry of his AEW contract. Do you want to see MJF in WWE or in AEW?

MJF is trying to go toe-to-toe with a former WWE Champion

MJF is the rising superstar in AEW. The future certainly looks bright for ‘The Salt of the Earth’. He is currently involved in a rivalry with the former WWE Champion and current AEW superstar, CM Punk.

In the feud, Maxwell Jacob Friedman is trying to go toe-to-toe with CM Punk. We know how good Punk is inside the ring and on the mic. So, to provide a challenge to Punk isn’t an easy feat. This feud attracted a lot of interest after Punk and MJF gave direct and indirect references to WWE superstars.

Later, the rivalry also got personal after ‘The Salt of the Earth’ threatened to attack CM Punk’s dog following Punk’s match against Lee Moriarty. Recently, Punk teamed up with Sting and Darby Allin to defeat MJF and the FTR in the main event of AEW Dynamite. But the two AEW superstars are yet to face each other in singles competition.
