AEW’s fifth-anniversary Double or Nothing show saw The Elite face off against Tony Khan‘s Team AEW. After attacking the company’s CEO, The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Kazuchika Okada were ready for anything. To defend Khan and the company, Bryan Danielson, Cash Wheeler, Dax Harwood, and Darby Allin stood up. During the match, Khan was brought out, as he was the one who started everything. Despite seemingly being injured, Khan made a rather clumsy escape, which was not aired.

The match, which was the main event of the show, was the pinnacle of AEW’s craziness. Pushing the boundaries, Allin almost drowned Perry in an ice bucket, following which Perry tried to run him over. As the match went on, Perry brought Khan out as well. Many fans believed this was a call back to the AEW All In backstage incident, which made headlines.

As Khan was brought to the stage, Allin lit the Jungle Boy on fire using his flamethrower. During all the chaos, Khan disappeared. However, fan footage taken from the ringside showed what happened to the company’s co-founder.

As Allin lit Perry up like a barbecue, Khan was seen rolling down the ramp rather hilariously. He got up and took the side pathway to get to the back. The entire sequence looked clumsy, which may have been why it was never seen during the broadcast. As the mayhem continued, Khan was nowhere to be seen, and now you know why.

The Elite ended up winning the match, which means the feud will continue. While the final match was chaotic, fans expressed their frustration with some finishes.

Fans were upset that she had only cut promos till now. During the media scrum after the show, it was revealed that Mone’s idea to wrestle at the PPV was planned.

Despite the planning, fans were upset that Mone beat Willow Nightingale to win the TBS Championship. Many believed the storyline and buildup were lackluster. Nightingale became a fan favorite after winning the title in April at AEW Dynasty. However, her losing the title to Mone in her first match in AEW seemed to have rubbed fans the wrong way.
