Tony Khan receives criticism from fans often because of the way that AEW conducts its affairs. On AEW Dyanmite, the telecast camera panning across the ringside caught a glimpse of something fans online may deem as ‘indecent’. Although the promotion already receives plenty of shots for many things, this footage may pile up on the existing criticism.

Some might appreciate it because of the element it brings back from the beloved ‘Attitude Era’. However, not everyone would express support for what the camera caught on live TV.

A fan recently posted a video of the live footage of AEW Dynamite as shown on TV. The fan cam panned along the ringside. Before sweeping the view, however, it briefly paused on a man and a woman who appeared to be either friends or a couple. In that brief moment, the lady appeared to be grooving in front of the camera while the man, who accompanied her, removed her T-shirt, flashing the camera in the process as it quickly moved past them.

In the video, we can see them laughing it out because the lady had clothes underneath. So, in this regard, AEW has not completely restored the ‘X-Rated’ image that the Attitude Era carried with itself. However, this act still etched itself as ‘indecent’ enough by some fans. They then called out Tony Khan for the same.

Khan’s promotion already indulges in acts of violence and some nudity that WWE has been refraining from for a long time. However, ever since Dwayne Johnson came from his long wrestling hiatus, he has taken on the responsibility of having turned the tide around.

AEW to receive competition soon over blurring the rules of TV-PG rating

For now, WWE operates at the TV-PG rating that they accepted years ago. However, ever since The Rock returned to the Stamford-based company in January 2024, we have seen a major shift in the content that the company used moving forward.

The Brahma Bull engaged in The Bloodline storyline and showcased a free pass to curse on live TV. All the major names involved in that feud received the same privilege. This also extended over to showing blood during promos. While some of it is allowed under the TV-PG guidelines, the leading wrestling promotion continued the same trend even after Johnson went on a hiatus. Although curse words are not frequent anymore, blood can be spotted sporadically.

Could this be the company’s way of conquering the area that Tony Khan was already involved in? What do you make of the recent scandal involving the AEW fan? Let us know in the comments section below.
