There has been a continuous discussion in the WWE Universe about NPJW star Sasha Banks’ possible AEW debut since she left Stanford’s company back in May last year. But temporarily winding down the buzz, the former WWE Women’s Champions made her debut under New Japan Pro Wrestling on January 4 during the Wrestle Kingdom 17 event.

The speculation didn’t stop there, nevertheless. During January 11th AEW Dynamite edition, which featured Toni Storm, Saraya, and Hiraku Shida, fans highly expected Banks to make her debut after the event. But that, too, proved to be a false hope, as she didn’t end up appearing at all. However, right now it seems the already existing speculation is further going to be hyped up as AEW boss Tony Khan shared his plans about the 31-year-old superstar.

Tony Khan probably doesn’t want to miss out on this super-talented lady. Speaking at the Revolution post-show media scrum, Khan noted,

”I have a ton of respect for the IWGP Women’s World Champion. She’s a tremendous wrestler. I wouldn’t want to comment on discussions I’m having with any wrestler who’s a free agent.’

Praising the NPJW star even more, Khan moved further,‘ in particular a wrestler who’s a champion of one of our partners. But a ton of respect for that great wrestler, and that’s somebody any wrestling company would be very fortunate to have wrestling for them.’

After achieving most of the titles during her WWE tenure, the former five times World Champion is seemingly doing well in the Japanese promotion as well. Recently, she defeated Kairi at the Battle of the Vally event to win the title of IPGW Women’s Champion back in February.

The possibility of Sasha Banks’ WWE return

Not only about Banks’ AEW return but there is also a fair amount of buzz about the current NPJW star’s comeback to WWE. WWE fans felt heartbroken as Banks walked out of the company during an episode of Monday Night Raw last year. While the reason for her departure from WWE is still not clear, former SmackDown Women’s Champion, Bayley seems quite confident about her in-ring friend’s return to WWE.

During a recent interview with BT Sport, Bayley shared her belief about Banks eventually finding her way back home (WWE) after taking the world by storm.
