Is WWE losing its grip on top talent with AEW eyeing the Motor City Machine Guns?

Tony Khan keeps his ears close to the ground to gain an advantage against the WWE when it comes to signing good talents. Both top wrestling promotions want the best for their roster and engage in competition to attain the best. Tony Khan has garnered a reputation for offering more lucrative contracts owing to his considerable wealth. It looks like the AEW head honcho could flex his financial muscle to emerge triumphant once again in signing a reputed duo.

The AEW President has shown interest in the tag team Motor City Machine Guns. The duo have also entered into negotiations with WWE. While WWE is considered the leading wrestling promotion in the world, AEW typically offers more money to new talents. Some stars choose to sign with AEW due to their lucrative offers. MCMG may also follow the same path if Tony Khan decides signing the tag team becomes paramount.

During an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Tony Khan recalled the time when both Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley delivered a performance at AEW All Out 22 that he still remembers to this day. The businessman confessed, “You needed somebody really strong, somebody very good to come in and help us, and that’s where the Motor City Machine Guns did come in about two years ago and were a big part of All Out ‘22, and would love to have them back here any time. I think they’re both great.

He recalled the PPV that took place in NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, in 2022 in which the MCMG lost against the FTR and Wardlow. Despite booking them to lose Khan would love to have them back. This comes as a surprise amidst reports of WWE wishing to sign the two stars now that their contract with TNA expired in April 2024.

A lot of the fanbase wanted Mone to return to WWE as ‘Sasha Banks’. Reports had suggested that she may opt to go back to her former workplace due to unfinished business. Those negotiations didn’t pan out as AEW made a decisive offer to her as she mulled over the best step for her career.

The female AEW top star revealed this snippet in an interview with ESPN. Mone elaborated that it wasn’t just the in-ring opportunity that she cared about, but also the numbers on the contract. She revealed that money emerged as a pivotal factor when she finalized her decision. The Motor City Machine Guns may be swayed by AEW’s offer if they think along the same lines. WWE may lose out on the services of the revered tag team if they don’t engage in serious discussions.
