Tonight, a new edition of Forbidden Door emanated from the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York. Where All Elite Wrestling, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, and World Wonder Ring Stardom joined forces to offer a unique show for the pro wrestling universe to see. And it surely was a spectacle to watch. We witnessed Swerve Strickland retain the World Championship and Mercedes Mone win the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship.
And now that this event turned out to be a success, all eyes are set to see how AEW’s All-In turns out to be. Last year, AEW held All In 2023 at London’s legendary Wembley Stadium, an event that was a success, attracting more than 82,000 spectators, according to data revealed by the company itself. Because of this success, they decided to announce their return to Wembley in 2024.
But could there be a venue change this time around? After all, despite the success of the event, it was also marred in controversy because of the brawl backstage between CM Punk and Jack Perry that led to Punk being fired from the promotion while Perry got a change of gimmick. Yes, you heard that right. So, could there be a change this time? Well, Tony Khan himself has provided an update on that front.

After the Forbidden Door PPV came to an end, Tony Khan appeared for the post-show press conference. There he was asked if AEW would be changing the venue for All-In. Earlier in May, it was reported by the Wrestling Observer that AEW has managed to sell just under 40,000 tickets for All In 2024. The problem was that there had been hardly any purchases for the past few months. And sales were not expected to increase until the event approached. According to the Observer, in the best-case scenario, they could attract sixty thousand fans. And if the situation did not improve, they would stay around fifty thousand. However, Khan provided an update on the situation while revealing that the promotion will be in Wembley for the PPV.
Tony Khan to continue in Wembley?
The AEW head honcho said, “Well, at Wembley Stadium last year, we set the world record for ticket sales. I think we got something really special at Wembley Stadium. Potentially, All-In could be a great event for AEW globally. I think that I’m very focused on our next event. Which obviously is AEW All-In in Wembley Stadium. And I think that’s our biggest event we’ve ever done. It’s a dream come true to go back to Wembley Stadium.”

The AEW President further gave an update on the numbers, saying, “I think it’s a huge-huge event anywhere in the world. In particular, I think Wembley Stadium is the greatest venue in all of sports. And this is the greatest event in the history of AEW. And it’s so monumental we’re going back. Last year, after eight one thousand thirty-five tickets, we set a world record. We’re going back; I think it’s a bold play, and we’re off to a great start in tickets. You know, we’re really at a very similar pace as last year, which is tremendous. It was a smart move getting out earlier this year and starting the sales.”

Last time, CM Punk and the former Jungle Boy came to blows behind the scenes of the show that was held at Wembley Stadium in London in August 2023. And back in April, during an episode of AEW Dynamite, the video of what happened backstage at AEW All In between CM Punk and Jack Perry was shown for the first time. It was a move that led many to criticize the company, including Tony Khan. Wrestling fans labelled it a cheap publicity stunt and a desperate move. So Khan would be hoping that this time no such incident takes place. What do you think? Should AEW return to Wembley? Let us know in the comments.
