Tony Khan‘s tensions are on a continuous rise. The AEW CEO and President is struggling to draw decent viewership numbers despite putting out outstanding shows every week. For the past few months, WWE has been beating them badly in terms of TV ratings. So there is too much pressure on him to improve the ratings lately.

On top of all this, Khan had to deal with another locker room disruption, which led to AEW pulling out a match from the 10/25 edition of the AEW Rampage match card. Let’s find out which match was pulled from the match card and why.

AEW star refused to put his opponent over on Rampage

Locker room disruptions are not an unknown occurrence in AEW. Rampage airs every Friday on TNT. The show is usually only an hour long and features around four matches. But the 25 October episode only had three bouts. The Komander vs. Metalik match was pulled from the match card and the reason for that emerged later.

Dave Meltzer on WON wrote, “The reason the 10/27 Rampage show had only three matches instead of four is because Komander vs. Metalik was booked for the show and then pulled when Metalik refused to put Komander over. Metalik still worked Collision a few days later, but that can’t have helped his standing here.”

Komander had previously defeated Metalik just a week prior on ROH TV. But he didn’t want to lose to him again, thus refusing to put over his opponent. It seems as if Khan cannot catch a break with his stars who have defied his orders. CM Punk is a big example to corroborate the statement.

Punk has been suspended from AEW not once, but twice. Both times it was because of his inappropriate behavior in the locker room. At All Out in September last year, he got involved in a fight with The Elite (Kenny Omega and Young Bucks), which resulted in Khan suspending him.

Khan brought him back only to release him again after his brawl with Jack Perry at All In in August this year.

As mentioned before, defying Khan’s order is a common occurrence in the promotion, which fans rarely see in WWE. Khan still has a lot to learn from its rival promotion, especially how to deal with instances when employees go rogue.
