Tony Khan is always under attack by people of the Internet Wrestling Community. But this time around, it seems that AEW has outdone itself in terms of reducing viewership. This is a challenge that has persisted in the wrestling promotion for a long time now and the Australian audience is not making things easy for Tony Khan. Not only is WWE the dominating wrestling promotion in the United States, but such is the case for the entirety of the globe, including Australia. New reports suggest that Khan doesn’t have a lot of fans on the island continent.
Most of the ratings and views that we get to know of in reports are usually from within the United States. This makes some people believe that maybe AEW is not suffering on a global level. However, new reports that Bryan Alvarez received from a friend in Australia suggest that the businessman isn’t hitting the bull’s eye there either.
On the Wrestling Observer Live, Alvarez read a report that said, “Since the beginning on ESPN in February 2023. Dynamite, which is frequently preempted for live sports, has only charted in the top 20 on FoxTel once, June 8th, 2023. It came in 20th with 20,000 viewers. It’s typical for Thursday programming. It’s around 18, 19, 20 to draw 20,000 or so viewers. This indicates the usual number is below 20,000 viewers.”

The statistics suggest that AEW is not doing well in Australia either. The argument is that a lot of the viewers also tune in from Triller. While the micro-level stats weren’t available for the app, there are a couple thousand people who buy the AEW PPV on the app and the ones who subscribe to the OTT platform just for AEW might somewhere be around 10K as per the reports.
These falling reviews are the reason Khan is always on Eric Bischoff’s radar.

Tony Khan gets criticized, again
Some days ago, AEW and WBD closed their deal and the wrestling promotion will be staying at its usual home for an extended period. There is no doubt that the worldwide entertainment conglomerate would have offered big numbers to keep the Jacksonville-based company. However, according to Bischoff, it doesn’t matter unless the creative team of the promotion can do a good job at keeping people hooked on the weekly shows and filling PPV seats.
After going through the reports of low viewership, the former WWE employee suggested that Khan may be making a ‘new record’ for the same. Although Eric Bischoff is famous for his rivalry against the 41-year-old that remains heated 12 months a year, he may not be wrong here about the reduced viewership.

Despite having a different audience overseas, AEW is still not able to pull off decent views. The reason may be hidden somewhere in the talents and the creative team. Hopefully, we will get to see the company’s fandom increase in the coming years as the staff continues working hard for the wrestling community.
