In rivaling WWE, AEW has made several leaps in trying to outdo the older promotion in terms of ratings and fans. The promotion which was established back in 2019 has been defying expectations by presenting audiences with a fresh experience. Now, in their latest bid to surpass the veteran promotion, AEW has announced a completely new format that will lead to AEW All-In 2024, and it has already made fans excited.
Tony Khan makes the announcement
Tony Khan has announced that the AEW Continental Classic title will be on the line. But to get their hands on the title, stars will have to compete in a round-robin tournament. In a round-robin format, each contestant has to go against every other contestant and will be eliminated after a certain number of losses. According to Khan, a total of 12 stars have been selected for this tournament and The American Dragon Bryan Danielson will be kicking off the tournament.

Who might be Tony Khan’s wild card entry?
Currently, one of the hottest talents is set to be a free agent in the near future. New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Will Ospreay is on the rise setting new records with eye-catching matches. There is a possibility that he might not be the inaugural champion for the title, but he might be the first challenger to challenge the title holder at AEW All Out. According to rumors, WWE is planning to bring back its NXT UK division which will be called NXT Europe. The brand will revolve around Will Ospreay to develop him until he is ready for the main roster.

But there is another possibility to this scenario. If The Aerial Assasin decides to move to the States, then his value will exponentially increase. If that happens, AEW and WWE might rush in to secure the 30-year-old star first. There is a possibility that Ospreay might be a good fit for the World Heavyweight Championship title at WWE. And to counter this offer, AEW might be devising a plan to come up with a new title. What do you think is Tony Khan’s motivation behind a new title? Who do you think will be AEW’s first-ever Continental Classic Champion?
