Tony Khan’s downward spiral on social media keeps getting worse. Ahead of the Tuesday Night War, Khan remarked on the WWE, Vince McMahon, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels. Khan called Hunter and Michaels “Bald A**hole” before going after fans who sided with WWE. Now that the dust has settled and the results are out, WWE’s victory proves to be a bitter pill for Khan.

Talking to social media, two Hall of Famers have voiced their opinions on what Khan said, which was not in favor of the AEW president.

Eric Bischoff says Tony Khan’s AEW is a vanity project

Eric Bischoff is one of the most well-known and respected managers in the pro-wrestling community. Despite the WCW blunder that took the prestige wrestling company down, he resurfaced with the WWE, and wrestling fans consider him a legend. After the Tuesday Night War, he shared his opinion on Khan.

“I think Tony’s beyond help. I don’t think Tony Khan is the type of person that wants help,” Bischoff said on his Strictly Business podcast #48: Tuesday Night Wars (AEW vs. NXT). Many critics have compared Khan to Bischoff in the past. With the years of experience, the wrestling icon has in the business, no one knows it better than him.

Bischoff said that Tony Khan wanted to be the next Paul Heyman or Vince McMahon. He continued by saying, “Yeah, this is a vanity project. He loves wrestling, okay, I get it. He loves wrestling.” Bischoff explained that the AEW chief was not ready to run a wrestling promotion. Despite Khan’s deep love for the business, it would never work unless he listened to what he needed to do.

Eric Bischoff also said that no matter what he did, things would always be messy because Khan was not good at it. This is not the first time Bischoff has spoken negatively about AEW’s management. However, Bischoff was not the only one with something to say. Hall of Famer Booker T also had some words to share.

Booker T compares AEW to WCW

Notable WWE superstar Booker T had a few things to say about Khan’s social media activity on his Reality of Wrestling podcast. During the episode AEW vs. NXT Recap with Booker T, he said, “Tony Khan got a hell of a product, he’s got a hell of a thing going, but I really think that just like WCW, they focused on ‘WWE, WWE’.”

This would not be the first time someone compared the actions of current AEW to that of WCW in the early 2000s. Despite pulling in good figures during the Monday Night War, WCW focused more on beating WWE in the ratings game. This made them lose focus on their product, leading to their downfall. Many fans and critics see the same future for Tony Khan and AEW.
