The current Bloodline storyline involves the introduction of Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa and the future arrival of Jacob and Zilla Fatu. Fans have dubbed it the Samoan invasion, and it is true. The number of new Samoan wrestlers in the WWE has gone up. With Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Roman Reigns as trailblazers, another young female duo could be WWE’s next signees.
The SmackDown after Mania XL saw Tonga’s debut, and Backlash saw Loa’s. Now, Jacob Fatu is next on the list and someone that fans were waiting for. But there aren’t any women in The Bloodline.

The Tonga Twins consist of Kona and Kaos (real names Ashley and Steffanie Manukainiu), who are natives of the villages of Kolonga and Houma. Inspired by The Rock and his mother, they became the first Tongan female professional wrestlers. They would also become the first Tongan wrestlers to win the World Tag-Team titles in Women of Wrestling (WOW). The duo worked in AEW in 2021 under different names before moving to WOW. She mentioned that they would explain what exactly went down between the sisters and WOW in the coming days. The post ended by saying, “Tonga Twins are now free agents.” This resulted in a slew of messages from fans tagging the WWE and Triple H to sign the two. The Bloodline has seen a ton of male additions to the ranks, but we’ve never seen a female in the group. Despite Naomi being Jimmy Uso’s wife, she was never officially part of The Bloodline.
Since they recently walked away from WOW, there is no indication of where they will be heading next. So how did the sisters get into wrestling, and what’s the Dwayne Johnson connection?

Talking to PMN.co.nz, they said, “Having someone like Ata, Dwayne Johnson’s mother, speak it into existence being the first Tongan female wrestlers and make history [was special].” They explained how they met The Rock and his mother backstage at a concert where he and his mom advised the two young women.
The support of the WWE family didn’t end there. WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi and Reno Anoa’i also helped the duo train. Both women emphasize the importance of support from the Polynesian wrestling community. Their support has cemented their pro wrestling roots and those roots could possibly nurture into something greater soon enough if the WWE decides to recruit them. What do you think about the Tonga Twins? Should the WWE sign them? Tell us in the comments.
