AEW took over the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on Saturday for Full Gear 2023 with a super jacked-up showdown. Heading toward the night, one of the marquee attractions of the extravaganza was MJF defending his World Title against Jay White.

But before fans could brace themselves for the most hyped-up main event, Tony Khan executed his infamous booking antics. He sent MJF off the card for his injury last minute and planted Adam Cole in his place.

Gunns’ vengeful attack on MJF provided the backdrop of the unforeseen alteration in the plan. MJF and Samoa Joe teamed up early in the night to take on The Gunns. After a tiff battle of a few minutes, the current AEW World Champion alongside Joe was able to get the upper hand against the heel tandem with a surprise intervention from Adam Cole.

The sudden interruption caused a distraction to the opponents, allowing Joe to hit the Coquina Clutch and get away with the win. That said, things went extremely wrong afterward. The Gunns fired back and launched a vicious attack on MJF. Billy Gun’s sons ended up injuring the left leg of The Devil.

The injury turned out so grave that MJF had to be taken to the hospital on a stretcher after an initial medical checkup. While leaving the arena in the ambulance, MJF soared in rage and asked Cole not to let his title slide in any way.

Tony Khan gave the thumbs up and Cole appeared to announce that he’ll defend the AEW World Championship for an injured MJF.
