AEW Revolution ended the way fans were expecting. The career of The Icon Sting ended on one of the highest note possible. Taking on The Young Bucks almost all by himself, Sting won the match and retained the AEW Tag Team titles with Darby Allin. Moreover, he looked incredible with the bumps he was put through. The match also featured esteemed wrestling personalities: Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat. However, after the match and celebrations were over, Sting was giving his retirement speech when the show abruptly cut off. All Sting fans watching at home took to social media to vent their frustration towards Tony Khan and AEW.

AEW cuts Sting’s retirement speech short while he was getting cues

After the match ended, Darby Allin took to the mic to announce there were three more minutes for the PPV. Allin asked the crowd to show some love for Sting. Taking the mic from Allin, Sting first thanked Greensboro. He recalled his 1988 match with Ric Flair that ended in a draw. He claimed that he wanted to give the fans a match that they would remember forever. As the “Thank you Sting,” chants echoed, String thanked Allin for being his tag partner. This is where things were supposed to go up, only to crash.

This did not affect the fans at the venue, who continued to listen to the Stinger. However, the ones at home were not happy with this abrupt cut.
