Jon Moxley has become the epitome of hardcore wrestling of this generation. It can arguably be said that he is the modern-day Mick Foley. The comparison stems from the fact that the duo is not afraid of pain, blood, and less-than-favorable situations. But what is that one match that has absolutely become synonymous with the former Shield member?

The hardcore fans might have seen it during huge AEW special events. For those who did not, look no further than the recent AEW Double or Nothing event to get a glimpse of it. Many were left in disbelief at Tony Khan’s promotion use of explosives that catapulted the event to the next level.

Jon Moxley has risen to become a fixture in AEW, ever since he joined the promotion in 2019. He made his debut on the same pay-per-view he left the fans in shock recently, Double or Nothing three years ago. Moxley’s squad, The Black Pool Combat Club, went into an 8-person tag team battle against The Elite in the main event.

The match was an exhilarating one that had the fans hooked in attendance. However, the AEW crowd lost it in one particular spot. Jon Moxley had Nick Jason locked in a submission maneuver. Matt Jackson intervened to help his brother by connecting with a Super Kick on Mox’s face. As soon as that happened, an explosion happened in Jon’s face, knocking him down.

The fans in the arena and on social media completely were in awe to see that never before seen spot. The explosive Super Kick became the subject of mixed reactions from the fans.

Moreover, some fans even expressed their opinions about Moxley being the subject of that kick.

Nevertheless, this is not the first time that the AEW star has plunged himself into dangerous situations.

Jon Moxley has been Death Match situations before

Jon Moxley has proved himself to be a lethal and dynamic competitor in AEW. While the fans completely lost it at seeing Moxley take the explosive Super Kick, they are familiar with seeing him in these situations. If the epitome of Unscripted Violence made his mark in AEW, it was because of his hardcore style and bloodied matches.
