CM Punk finding himself in the middle of controversies and Tony Khan garnering nonstop brickbats are two of the most recurrent themes in the AEW realm. But this time, two scenarios have been put on a show together with WWE’s Eric Bischoff taking jibes at Khan for Punk’s recent disgrace.
CM Punk is currently under suspension following his heated backstage altercation with Jack Perry during an action-packed All In. The set of events attracted much noise from fans regarding his availability in the upcoming All Out. The Second City Saint, being a massive crowd-puller for any PPV for AEW, is obvious. Therefore, a WWE Hall of Famer believes that Khan should not keep his attendance under wrap for fans’ sake.

Every promoter should bear some moral responsibilities to fans, something that Bischoff wanted to remind the AEW Boss once again. Khan recently spilled that Punk can only appear on Sunday’s PPV if AEW’s internal committee wraps up the ongoing investigation processes in time. Needless to mention, there’s a lack of clarity in his stance that kept the guesswork on for us.
It didn’t really sit well with Eric Bischoff, a dominant critique of Khan’s business moves. According to him, Khan closely witnessed the whole alleged segment between Punk and Perry and could very well reach a verdict himself, without allowing a formal investigation to take over.
Bischoff isn’t a staunch supporter of the Second City Saint, either. He even blasted the star upon his recent re-arrival of the Jacksonville-based promotion. But that didn’t make him support a wrong move that Khan imposed on him.
Appearing in the Strictly Business, Bischoff fired at Khan’s leadership authority. The 68-year-old noted, ”A leader leads. If the fans bought tickets expecting CM Punk to be a part of this event, we apologize. But we had to handle the situation correctly. For the sake of the roster and the long-term business, we should be upfront and say Punk won’t be here this time. There’s nothing wrong with [making] a compromise, because he [Punk] was advertised for the show. ”

Bischoff urged Khan, ‘ Let him work the show and then suspend him. But this whole, ‘I don’t know if he will or won’t’ … that’s weak.’
By that time, this became a well-documented fact that Bischoff wasn’t very impressed with Khan’s gestures. That said, he imparted some sound advice to the AEW boss.
Eric Bischoff issues some wisdom amidst the AEW president receiving flak for his decision
Vince McMahon might have garnered many negative remarks throughout his career. However, when it comes to the smooth professional handling of a global juggernaut, Bischoff gave him a yell call. He complimented the former WWE Boss for setting an example of how an ideal promoter should act during a crisis phase.

Comparing this rare quality with Khan, Bischoff stated he still has massive loopholes in this area. Khan should be more firm and bold in his decisions to sustain the goodwill of his business in the long run.
Now, we need to see how more drama involving Punk’s suspension unravels down the line and if he finally ends up appearing in the All Out stage or not.
