Being well-known comes with its pros and cons. While a good deal of people get fixated on the brighter side, we often come across cases of famous personalities receiving social media hate. And AEW President Tony Khan is not new to this concept.

Fans of AEW and WWE are often at loggerheads, defending their preferred promotions and engaging in heated debates. However, sometimes fans tend to cross boundaries and spread unnecessary hate. And recently, Tony Khan unveiled his thoughts on being on the receiving end of things.

The AEW President recently appeared on “News4JAX The Local Station” for an interview. He talked about different aspects of his life and his company. In the interview, the interviewer and Khan talked about Ric Flair’s WOOOOO energy beverage sponsoring AEW.

During the conversation, the host brought up the topic of receiving social media hate as Rick Flair recently issued an apology and offered to step away from AEW. This came after an incident involving some eyebrow-raising remarks surfaced that led to him receiving a lot of backlash on social media. Being the head of a promotion that is arguably the biggest competitor of WWE at the moment, it is likely that Khan too receives some unnecessary backlash now and then.

Opening up on the same, the 41-year-old opened up on how he deals with it. He said, “I think that’s part of life now in 2024. So you’re just going to see that. I think if you know part being in sports, that’s part of what you sign up for and it’s a great life working in sports. It’s I don’t complain about it, I think I’m very fortunate so I don’t… I don’t really want to get tied up in it.”

Unfortunately for him, the hate that he receives on social media isn’t just limited to him being a part of AEW. Soccer fans, too, once lined up to criticize the AEW president for their club’s poor performance. But why him? Well, it turns out that he is the vice chairman of the club.

While many can argue that the 41-year-old has done a great job of establishing AEW as a clear rival of WWE, he failed to pay attention to the soccer club as per the fans. They were furious over the abysmal performance of the club. With Fulham not being active in the transfer market, and being unable to replace their departing striker Aleksandar Mitrović, fans took up arms.
