The most recent episode of AEW Dynamite saw a glimpse of WWE’s Attitude Era. While the camera panned towards the crowd, a rather NSFW moment was captured. While it was not addressed on air, it did lead to fans questioning what age demographic Tony Khan was aiming for. However, that seemed to have been the tip of the iceberg. A recent promo from Saraya (Paige) has left fans dumbfounded as to where AEW is heading.

AEW has always been explicit in its language. However, they haven’t done anything involving the female talent that would lead to fans questioning them until now.

The Monday Night RAW after WrestleMania 34 was a dark day for Paige’s fans. The beloved star cited medical reasons, cutting her career way too short. However, on 21 September 2022, at AEW Grand Slam, she made her return to wrestling. Going under her real name, Saraya, she kicked off a storm on social media. While fans believed this would be a new chapter for the young star, some past incidents don’t get tucked away with time. Saraya’s new AEW promo went viral on social media.

The promo also included Harley Cameron, with whom Saraya is teaming with. However, the intro part of the video piqued the fans’ attention. Featuring only Saraya from a POV perspective, the video was made to be intimidating, but it gave fans other ideas.

Saraya’s promo leaves fans confused as they recall her WWE run as Paige

While many were quick to defend the promo and call it creative, others were not so kind. Many of them compared this promo to Paige’s WWE run and her one scandal. Here are the top reactions to the video.

The biggest comparison was Rhea Ripley, who gained a ton of attention with her NSFW moves during house shows.

This promo did give trolls a chance to continue their hate on AEW. The biggest complaints have always been the lackluster matches and, most recently, the drop in viewership.

Saraya was also in the news for calling out the cameramen in AEW. In multiple matches, she asked the cameramen to keep the focus on the fighting and not on the female stars.

The running joke has been that this promo was made to gain attention ahead of AEW’s Double or Nothing in Las Vegas.
