Currently, AEW is booming at an unexpected rate. With the announcement and record-breaking ticket sales of the promotion in the United Kingdom, its success is pretty much in front of everyone. However, not everything’s going as per their plan. That being said, massive criticism came to AEW when fans saw CM Punk in AEW’s video game. 

It wouldn’t be incorrect to say that Punk’s stock in pro wrestling has hardly ever gone down. One of the major reasons for it is the enormous love of fans for the former AEW world champion. However, in reality, things might remain the same, but in the world of gaming, fans are finding Punk odd. To be precise, it’s the graphics and how his character looks that have attracted criticism from many.

AEW Fight Forever, the upcoming wrestling video game has already taken a long time to see the light of the day. Still, there’s no release date for it. This pumped fans with more excitement. However, since many fans revealed that the game was now available to pre-load on Xbox, there have also been quite a few other leaks. One of which was the never-seen-before entrance of CM Punk.

Soon, the internet was flooded with numerous comments by fans who were left disappointed seeing Punk’s character model in the game. Most of the remarks were a harsh criticism of the game’s visuals. 

Some fans found Punk’s game model to be similar to other well-known personalities. The amusing part was, not many found it to be similar to the six-time world champion. 

Another notable part of the fans’ reactions was their comparison of AEW’s video game to that of WWE’s 2k23. 

Such reactions before the release of the much-awaited game seem concerning for the Jacksonville-based promotion. However, the recent reports on its release might excite fans a little. 

AEW video game will reportedly be released soon

As per a recent report by Fightful Select, the long wait of fans to have their hands on the AEW video game might end soon. It’s noted that AEW Fight Forever is developed by Yuke. And the sources within it expect an announcement will be made “sooner than later” regarding the game’s release date.
