AEW’s Dynamite’s commentary team consists of Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and WWE icon Taz. While the trio has garnered praise for their play-by-play commentary, some moments have caught the AEW fans off-guard. This often is the banter between the trio. However, sometimes things become a shoot rather than a work. A similar pattern showcased itself on the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite when Taz lost his cool because Tony Khan was telling the team something.

It should come as no surprise that Khan is telling the team what to say and what to avoid. The same was seen in the WWE when Vince McMahon would tell Michael Cole and others what they could and couldn’t say. Even today, you’ll hear Pat McAfee and Cole abruptly stop mid-sentence because they were told not to continue.

This bit of off-script banter was heard during the Jon Moxley vs Rocky Romero match. As the tension in the ring increased, so did Taz’s lack of patience for Khan’s interruption. Fans watching at home could hear the wrestling machine say, “How often do you talk to Tony Khan during these broadcasts?” While this was a valid question, it clearly shows how the AEW head honcho has his fingers in the cookie jar more often than not.

This led to one of the other members asking Taz to watch the match. However, this is when Hook’s acclaimed father lost his cool and belted out, “Dude, I am calling the freaking match. Kiss my a**. Dude!” The back-and-forth was between Taz and Excalibur while Schiavone maintained his gentleman-esque decorum on the mic as always.

Upon hearing Taz’s outburst out of nowhere, fans took to social media to discuss it. The AEW personality has rarely lost his cool the way he did tonight, and it divided fans. However, this would be one of the rare moments Taz lost his cool due to the AEW president as he has spoken highly about him in the past.

During an interview with Ringside News, Taz said, “PH & TK from a passion perspective, creative, work ethic & connecting directly w/their audiences, TK & PH VERY similar!” Many AEW stars have praised Khan’s passion for the business. Some have likened the AEW head honcho to revered WWE figure Paul Heyman as he has displayed a penchant for his creativity and enthusiasm. Some have claimed it to be inspiring, and that it is the reason why they joined AEW. However, critics and experts do not feel the same way.

Since 2024, AEW has faced several issues, the most significant being the dwindling viewership numbers. However, Khan believes this will pick up in the coming months and will not affect the product. What do you think? How did you like Taz’s little unfiltered moment? Tell us your thoughts down below.
