The passing of any wrestler is a massive blow to the wrestling community. When it is someone who was as loved as Jay Briscoe, it’s heartbreaking. Pro wrestling has always had its way of remembering wrestlers gone too soon. Thanks to a recent announcement, the late Jay Briscoe who tragically passed earlier this year in an accident, will continue to live on in fans’ memory.
The Briscoe brothers have had their fair share of ups and downs in Pro wrestling. They enjoyed fruitful stints in Impact, Ring of Honor (ROH), Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). Jay Briscoe never had the opportunity to wrestle at AEW although his brother Mark gained the chance to make his debut in the promotion after Jay’s untimely demise. During the January 25th edition of AEW Dynamite, Mark Briscoe defeated Jay Lethal on his debut. In a touching gesture, the entire locker room came out to honor Jay by celebrating Mark’s win.
